Parenting Support Group: Thursday, Jan. 26, 7-9 p.m.
January 4, 2012
AS OF JANUARY 10TH, THIS EVENT IS FULL. PLEASE CONTACT ME TO BE PUT ON THE WAITING LIST IF ANY SPOTS OPEN UP.
Happy New Year, friends…and here’s to a fantastic 2012!
I wanted to give you all the heads-up that my next parenting group will be Thursday, January 26th from 7 to 9 p.m.
The topic for discussion will be Motivational Interviewing and Teens.
M.I. is a powerful parenting tool that can be used to facilitate change in teens by helping them to access their intrinsic motivation. While M.I. was originally developed in the early 1980’s to help problem drinkers, its applications have been widened significantly over the years.
Personally, I have found M.I. to be an effective, non-intrusive technique with which to communicate with teens, and once communication starts happening, so does change!
Please note that attendance is limited to 12 participants, so please R.S.V.P. early to ensure your seat. There is no fee for this group.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me.
