Oct. 19/11 Effective Parenting Group: Parental Codependency

October 4, 2011

WHEN ARE YOU HELPING TOO MUCH?  AND AT WHAT COST?

Codependency is a complicated interpersonal dynamic that can be toxic to the child-parent relationship.

“Codependency is unhealthy love and a tendency to behave in overly passive or excessively care-taking ways that negatively impact one’s relationships and quality of life. It also often involves placing a lower priority on one’s own needs, while being excessively preoccupied with the needs of others.”

Sean will discuss the basics of codependency, its effects, and how as a parent you can address it.

As in past sessions, there will be a lecture followed by discussion.
